Phela Townsend is an activist-scholar whose work focuses broadly on two issue areas: addressing emerging technologies’ impacts on workers; and developing solutions and strategies to build economic and political power, particularly in our most vulnerable communities. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Rutgers University School of Management and Labor Relations and a Future for Good Fellow at the Institute for the Future in Palo Alto, CA. Her previous work experiences include working in various roles in labor and employment relations and consulting in Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Aerospace Manufacturing. She has a B.S. in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
