Miriam is a German/Ugandan activist-scholar at Heinrich-Heine-University in Duesseldorf. She took part in the Black Europe Summer School in Amsterdam and is a member of the Afro-German Network. As a Charlemagne Prize Academy Fellow, Miriam consulted the EU's Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality regarding intersectional discrimination in the European Union. As an expert on political science, she got interviewed by German media regarding the EU elections in 2019 and the German elections in 2021. Previously she worked for the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy and UN Women Germany.
